We get lots of questions, especially from people who are new to camping, so we’ve put some of the most common campervan hire questions here to help you.

How old do I need to be to book a Campervan with Breakout Campers?

All our drivers must be 25 years old and hold a full driving licence

How do I book a Breakout Campers van?

It’s really easy to book a campervan through our website. Just visit our booking page and select the van you’d like to book then your preferred dates and follow the on-screen prompts. You can also call us on 01204 524877 if you’d prefer to speak with us directly.

Do I have to pay a deposit?

A refundable deposit of £500 is to be paid on the booking of each campervan. This deposit will be retained in the event of a late return of your campervan or if it is returned with damages or heavy cleaning is required.

What do I do about insurance?

All our campervans come with insurance included in the price. However, we do require a refundable security deposit of £500 on collection of the vehicle.

What time can I collect and drop off the campervan?

Collection 09:00-11:00
Drop off 15:00-17:00

We can accommodate different times please confirm this at booking time however, we need time to get the campers clean and ready for re-hire.

How much does it cost to hire a campervan?

All our campervans cost £110-£150 (Off Peak/Peak Times) per day to hire. Click here to check availability and book your van today.

Where can I buy a campervan like the ones for hire?

Along with campervan hire, we sell these vans so we would recommend that you call us on 01204 524877 to discuss the specifications available through us.

What is included in the hire price?

Our vans include insurance as part of the hire fee, and as well as having use of the built-in features of our high specification campervans such as the gas hob and sink, we always include a complimentary home comforts box which you can use for the duration of your hire. These boxes include,

Plates
Utensils
Mugs
Glasses
Kettle
Pans
Bottle opener
Tea towels
Washing up sponge
Dustpan and brush
First aid kit

Do I need to bring my bedding?

Yes. We don’t supply duvets or pillows so please bring these with you.

Do the vans have electric hook-up?

Yes. All our campervans have electric hook-up so you can use the 240v sockets in the vehicle.

Where are some good places to go in a campervan?

Everyone is different and no two camping trips are ever the same, but we’ve put together some ideas for you on our inspiration page so feel free to check this out or get in touch if you have something particular that you’re looking to do. The Breakout Campers team are extremely experienced and will happily talk through some ideas with you.

Can I take my bike with me when I hire a campervan?

Yes. We have bicycle racks available to hire which you can read about and book here. Our bike racks are compatible with our Bowfell and Hellvelyn campervans and will keep your bikes safe and secure during transit and overnight.

Are the campervans suitable for children?

Yes, all our campervans are 2-4 berth and suitable for children with elevating roof which doubles as a sleeping space, ideal for children.

Do Breakout Campers come with awnings?

We have Vango Galli awnings withAirbeam® technology available to hire which are compatible with all our campervans. Take a look at the details here.

Can I hire a dog friendly campervan?

Yes. We love dogs! All our campervans are dog friendly, but we do ask that you make sure the van is cleaned well before returning to us. If the vehicle isn’t returned to us in a clean condition or if there is any damage, the cost of repairs and/or cleaning will be taken from your £500 deposit.

How are your campervans cleaned?

All our vans are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected after every hire and checked carefully before collected every single time to make sure they’re in perfect condition.

What fuel do your campervans use?

All our campervans are diesel.

Can I hire an automatic campervan?

Yes. If you would like to hire an automatic campervan, please choose our Bowfell van.

What documents do I need to bring when I collect the campervan?

Each driver will need to bring the following on collection,

Photo driving licence

2x Proof of current address (such as a utility bill, mortgage statement or bank statement which must be dated within the last 3 months)

How do all the features and appliances work?

When you collect your campervan from us, we will walk through everything you need to know and make sure you’re happy and confident with all the features. If you forget anything or get stuck, just call us on 01204 524877 so we can help.

What do I do if there’s a problem with the campervan when I’m away?

Please call us on 01204 524877 when it’s safe and practical and we will help you.
